Our group is made up of 7 community focused people and is organized as a working group under the Morrisburg Waterfront Committee with our main role being fundraising for recreation amenities within the park. Our first project that we are working on is a multi-use pad to be used at no cost to residents for all sorts of outdoor games throughout our 4 seasons. Our group firmly believes that recreation and time outdoors is paramount to building strong communities and healthy people and that it needs to be accessible to people of all ages and abilities free of charge. We see this pad as an anchor to future recreation growth within the park and the centrepiece of Morrisburg outdoor recreation.

We believe this pad will immediately help to facilitate and encourage exercise and community gatherings through ball hockey, pickle ball, outdoor rink in the winter etc. People of all ages will have a place to gather and have fun outdoors!

We are an extremely small group of volunteers trying to make a difference in our community. There are other groups like us spread all over South Dundas and together they have huge impacts on our community. I’d really like to see more peiople step up to volunteer and support these groups to keep them going.
